  1. StatsReader v1.9 HowTo:

  3. - do a "usual" first pass
  4. - open the resulting stats file with statsreader (e.g. Auto Load)
  5. - enter your desired size
  6. (When not using autoload:
  7. - enter your credits ranges. Currently works only with
  8.   fixed quant. credits, you have to use them in first pass
  9.   as well! )
  10. - verify your settings, just to be sure ;)
  11. - hit "Save..", choose a filename different from the
  12.   original file
  13. - when StatsReader is finished, it spits out some information
  14.   like scaled size reached (due to rounding errors usually
  15.   in a 100kb range of desired size) etc.

  17. Now in XviD, select "2pass - 2nd pass external". The easiest
  18. way to do it properly would be: set "old", "regular" curve
  19. compression high/low to 0 and disable altCC.
  20. OR set altCC to automatic min. relative quality, set strength
  21. to 0. OR set min. realtive quality to manually and set it to
  22. 100. (Quite a lot of choices ;) ).
  23. Below the first pass stats file in the GUI you can now choose
  24. a second statsfile. Use the new generated statsfile in this
  25. place.

  27. That's it, if you tried it you'll notice that it's not much
  28. of a difference to usual 2pass encoding, you simply "disable"
  29. curve compression within the codec and feed it the new
  30. stats file.
